Description

DataCamp is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to provide support to our finance and accounting department. The Staff Accountant reports to the Finance and Accounting Manager. This addition to the team will be responsible for assisting in the accounts receivable and payables processes, producing accurate and timely reconciliations of assigned accounts, preparing journal entries and maintaining compliance with US GAAP. The Staff Accountant will also participate in the monthly closing process and contribute to the annual audit. 

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in all aspects of the accounts receivable and payable processes
  • Compile financial information to prepare journal entries and accruals
  • Assist with the accounting month-end close process including bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly closing workpapers
  • Maintain compliant financial records
  • Assist with the year end audit process
  • Research and document accounting and financial reporting issues in compliance with US GAAP
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal control processes and procedures
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests as needed

 Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • 2-4 years’ experience in public accounting, financial accounting or equivalent experience exhibiting a working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online
  • Ability to adapt efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethic
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
