I Are movies getting shorter?
Yes, there are more movies with durations less than 60 minutes made in the last decade than there were in the previous 60 years.
There are still many movies exceeding the 60 minute durations but the majority of the movies shorter than 60 miniutes are a different genre. Movies have segmented by genre and certain genres have a format which its duration is less than 60 minutes. For example, Stand-Up is a genre that has increase in popularity and the common format for a stand up special is 60 minutes. To be more certain we would have to look at the trends within genres as well.
