Policy Analyst

Working in the policy team at the world's largest for-hire transportation regulator, focusing on: ▪ Electric Vehicles (EV) - Led development of the TLC’s Electrification Plan which will grow NYC’s for-hire EV fleet from 3,000 to 80,000 vehicles by 2030 (a 2,500% increase), the most ambitious municipal efforts of their kind. Responsibilities included: policy research & formulation; interagency collaboration; data analysis; industry partnerships & outreach. ▪ EV Infrastructure - Main agency liaison during a successful grant application submitted in partnership with the NYC Department of Transportation. Secured $50M in federal funding for EV charging infrastructure by pulling census-tract level TLC driver data and creating interactive maps via GIS software. ▪ Technology & Data - Analyzed 3+ years worth of data representing 6M+ taxi trips, leading to the adoption of new app-based technology representing approx. $455M/year in additional driver revenue. ▪ External Collaboration: Coordinated international transportation regulators’ forums, boosting attendance & engagement by 40%. ▪ Accessibility - Incorporated unused trip data into compliance requirements, lowering wait-times for Uber & Lyft’s wheelchair accessible trips by 10-15%. ▪ Driver Pay - Implemented the largest raise for NYC taxi drivers in 10 years to combat the effects of COVID and inflation, leading to 17% Y-o-Y industry growth.
