Assistant Conservator (Tower Bridge)

Conducting survey of 1500 architectural plans, including treatment time estimate based on damage type and extent. Automating box ordering and exhibition loan request processes with Power Automate and VBA, with reporting in PowerBI.

Lambeth Palace | Apr 2017 - Present

Preservation Assistant

Preservation management including routine environmental monitoring and response, designing a datalogger summary and graphing tool with webapp in R, preparing annual reports, and delivering staff handling training. Preparation for the move including measuring and cutting 7,000 custom boxes on the boxmaking machine, cleaning, rehousing, and condition checks of collections, and helping to train new staff. Interventive treatments such as board reattachment, surface cleaning, red rot consolidation, and tear repair.

Conservation Intern

Assessed and executed minor repairs on fifty books, performed indemnity survey in Microsoft Access, conserved extensively mold- damaged map.

Collated and rebound Civil War manuscript in paper case binding, rebound large volumes according to established protocol in large-scale project, prepared records for digitization, flattened and repaired 50 posters.

Sorted nightly automated test image diffs for document rendering software as better, neutral, or worse and by category like line spacing, letterspacing, and image quality.

General collections care including paper mending and guarding, rebacking, as well as leather rebacks and boxmaking for special collections. Digitized books too brittle to be served, repaired in Photoshop, and laid out in Publisher to be bound in pamphlets.
