Analytical Chemist

-Responsible for all cannabis potency analysis on two (2) Agilent 1220 Compact LCs in a CDPHE regulated lab under the authority of the MED. -Provided on-time analysis of commercial samples on an almost daily basis (influx dependent). -Authored SOPs for in-lab workflow, analysis and regulatory audits. -Designed and instituted new laboratory systems, methods and procedures made to maximize efficiency and reduce lab costs (e.g. in house sample tracking innovations that saved paper waste). -Supervisory responsibilities: running a weekend shift with 1 or 2 technicians; running the lab when the lab director and supervisory analyst were absent; attending meetings with upper management on workflow, structure and lab design. -Interviewing and training new employees. -Attended industry events and conferences as both educational and social networking platforms. -Cross-trained in microbiological contaminant analysis (plating methods and qPCR) as well as contaminant residual solvent analysis (Agilent GC) and aseptic techniques. -Some familiarization and training on Agilent LC-MS triple quad system. -Other responsibilities included: Ordering lab supplies, on-site customer sample pick-up; late night sample delivery receiving; sample intake and logging, sample processing through every analytical method that we were licensed to test; proper sample/chemical/biological handling and disposal; etc.

NELAP certified lab -Other responsibilities: sample/chemical handling and disposal, sample intake and processing, daily sample analysis for private and corporate inorganic contaminants primarily handling oil and gas field samples.
