My Work Experience

Where I've interned and worked during my career.

Imperial College Business School | Jan 2022 - Present

Research Assistant

At Imperial College London, Business School, I served as part of Prof. Sassi's STOP research project (Science & Technology in childhood Obesity Policy). It is worth mentioning that I designed and managed clinical trial in co- ordination with various parties to evaluate effectiveness of FlavorID. One of my key tasks was to recommend ingredient choices for users in meals through a recipe platform known as HappyPlate. Collaborated with recruitment agency to recruit participants. Not only this but I also assist with data analysis for the SHIFT project, run as part of STOP. My achievements are as follows: • Achieved 100% participation rate using multiple touchpoints. • Obtained ethics approval to drive trial by preparing all required documents. • Maintained contact with participants throughout trial and ensured everything completed on time. • Utilised R to create programmes for checking participant questionnaire completion rate in timely manner. • Conducted 15 semi-structured interviews with randomly selected participants to gather data on experiences during trial.

Research Assistant

During this tenure, I analysed data from Airwave Health Monitoring Study (a longitudinal observational study of members of the police force in Great Britain). I established a strong foundation for success by leveraging data analysis, R programming language, and different statistical methods skills in public health research. I was entrusted with performing independently and within team whilst showing consumption of ultra-processed foods associated with CMR. I was also involved in other parts of research, such as coding food diaries. Supported running the iPrevent clinical trial. My accomplishments within this role are the following: • Facilitated team in managing data by writing VBA macro aimed at saving time. • Promoted overall nutritional health by gaining in-depth knowledge regarding importance of nutrition in public health. • Spearheaded research on ultra-processed foods classification, resulting in publishing paper. • Collaborated with colleagues to examine ultra-processed food consumption, diet quality, and cardiometabolic risk (CMR) within the Airwave population.
