Versium Analytics | Apr 2019 - Present

Customer Success Manager

Versium is a SaaS data platform in the martech space. I manage a large book of business through the entire post-sales customer lifecycle. I am also our de facto Compliance Officer. Since we deal with PII, this shows my employer entrusts me with a responsibility requiring significant attention to detail. Skills leveraged in this role include: -Communication, especially written communication -Excel (on a daily basis) for diagnostic, customer trends, and persuasive purposes -Project management, including managing multiple simultaneous projects -Attention to detail This is a role with measurable KPIs; most recently, I achieved 155% of my 2023 upsell quota.

The Conference Board | Aug 2013 - Dec 2018

Account Manager, then Sales Enablement Manager

The Conference Board is a human capital & economics think tank. If you've heard of the Consumer Confidence Index -- TCB is the official source of that data. Skills leveraged during my tenure at TCB include: -Communication, especially in understanding use cases of senior executives at Fortune 500 companies. -Collaboration with internal colleagues, especially sales and SMEs -Project management -Excel for analyzing trends -Leadership TCB was an amazing experience as it exposed me to a wide range of customers faced with a variety of different challenges. Our primary buyers were typically the CHRO, Chief Legal Officer, or Chief Financial Officer. My initial task was to lead a program which increased first-year retention by 50%. Then I moved into a sales enablement role where I led our social selling and storytelling initiatives, and also served as Acting Director of our Mid-Markets team for about six months.

Salsa Labs | Oct 2011 - Dec 2012

Account Executive

Salsa Labs offers a SaaS platform for non-profits complete with CRM, email, fundraising, event management, and anything else they need for their online activities. Skills leveraged in this role include: -Communication, especially for persuasion and training purposes -Excel Salsa Labs is special to me as it was my first exposure to writing code. Simple code, to be sure, but suddenly I was able to create actual web pages customized to a specific purpose. It was also my first exposure to APIs and so many other aspects of my technology journey.

Thomson Reuters | Mar 2005 - Jul 2011

Account Executive, Account Manager, Manager of Training Programs

I worked in the Westlaw Business division of TR, so my customers were large law firms and primarily the corporate & securities groups within those firms. After managing a mid-Atlantic territory for several years, consistently ranking in the top 3 nationally, I needed a new challenge and I successfully lobbied my way into a newly-created position on the Education & Training team so I could translate some of my successful experiments onto the national stage. Skills leveraged during my tenure at Westlaw Business: -Communication -Collaboration -Project management -Excel I'm particularly proud of my work at Westlaw Business because I had no prior legal experience and yet I managed not only to get up to speed quickly and compete with my peers with extensive legal backgrounds -- I ultimately wound up training, advising, and even editing an online publication analyzing legal trends. How did I manage all of this? By asking lots of questions and then listening carefully and thinking through the answers. The other useful thing from a data analytics perspective is that working at Westlaw Business, where our flagship product was a database, gave me a foundation for quickly learning SQL since, in the early days, our search syntax used many of the same concepts.

About Me

Alexia Bailey

I love stories. I majored in English and my focus is on communication, very handy for sales & account management. But I also love numbers and I have an Excel spreadsheet for everything. I want to leverage both data & communication in my next role.
