Data Scientist

Data Scientist within the Retail & Consumer Business Unit - Worked on multiple client-facing Generative AI projects leveraging LLMs: -- Created an LLM chatbot using OpenAI and retrieval augmented generation -- Created a text-to-SQL chatbot POC for a large British airline -- Performed LLM evaluation, comparing OpenAI and other open source models - Worked on a reinforcement learning content recommendation project for a global publisher. This system improved CTR from 1% to 5% - Helped create a customer segmentation model categorising millions of customers for large British telecom company - Taught a Python course to Faculty’s AI fellowship (a competitive programme helping STEM PhDs break into data science).

As the first data scientist, I was responsible for the Machine Learning initiative at Candide (social network, marketplace, plant  collection platform and ticketing partner) - Devised and worked together with our developers to implement our first iterations of  recommender systems - Created a model to predict the numbers of visitors in our partnering gardens using features like the weather and visitors' numbers from previous years
