Oxford BioMedica | Nov 2018 - Sep 2020

ASG Scientist

• Led projects for General Research (GR) studies, involving project planning and writing, compiling data for analysis, presenting results and writing reports. Worked with Cat 3 viruses (HIV and EIAV) to execute experiments using RCL drug products in laboratory. • Compiled data from existing studies to analyse and predict cell growth behaviour and plan future RCL projects. • Conducted GR study to increase the total culture volume in flasks, resulting in a reduction of consumables and time needed, therefore improving employee productivity and a lowering of group costs. • Created streamlined Excel spreadsheets to include detailed laboratory tasks to facilitate changes post GR study. • Trained fellow scientists to be trainers in all laboratory processes. • Worked well independently as well as in a team. Collaborated with other departments such as Quality Analytics and Validation to work on projects aiming to optimise and improve electronic systems.

Abzena | May 2015 - Oct 2018

Scientist

• Planned and executed experimental research to deliver cell line development projects within specifications and timelines. Delivered pre-work for the team ahead of each project and also on a weekly basis. • Created Excel spreadsheets to facilitate addition of large amounts of raw data, which automatically calculated cell culture related specifications including doubling times and antibody productivity and produced graphs to visualise trendlines and use in project reports. • Collaborated in utilising Excel and Word for laboratory data to replace written notes, trained team members on using formulae and produced a Word Notebook template. • Placed great emphasis on meeting deadlines for client projects, which involved biosimilars or producing non-conjugated antibodies, worth +£350k. • Effectively researched a large number of scientific journals and articles for CLD process optimization.

Abcam | Apr 2015 - May 2015

Western Blot Technician

Working within the Characterisation team and running Western Blots to validate primary antibodies and peptides using a wide range of in house lysates.Taking images of the blots using the G-Box system and using the LIMS system to annotate blots, as well as the PhotoShop and GeneSnap softwares. Following SOPs and H&S guidelines.

Brunel University London | Dec 2014 - Apr 2015

Research Project

Project title: Planar cell polarity genes Fat and Dachsous regulate Apoptosis- Induced Proliferation in Drosophila wing imaginal discs. I was able to work independently and with minimal supervision in laboratory, conducting research into the effects of fat and dachsous genes on apoptosis induced cell proliferation in Drosophila (fruit fly) wing discs. This involved incorporation of animal preparation, tissue dissections under a light microscope, slide preparation, indirect immunofluorescence staining (using different antibody markers) and fluorescence microscopy using the AxioVision Release 4.6.3 computer software. Further, I learned how to effectively organise time and work with a high number of samples of different genotypes.

Kingfisher Glazing Ltd | Jan 2013 - Jul 2013
