EMEA FP&A and Reserving Actuary

As an EMEA, FP&A and Reserving Actuary I was tasked in assisting the Head of FPA and Reserving in developing and reviewing the business plan for SCOR’s European, Middle East and African Life Operation, by coordinating with various offices and group wide stakeholders. During my role I had the opportunity to develop SCORs FPA procedures to integrate various financial views in a holistic way , while also gaining valuable experience in communicating to senior stakeholders in the business. In my role I was also tasked with ensuring the reserving adequacy of the region , by carrying out review of regular experience studies, assumption and model updates for various European markets. I was also involved in a number of projects , but I would like to highlight two key ones. First one was an In-force management initiative , where I was responsible for the development and management of action plans for clients targeted within the EMEA in-force management framework in conjunction with the local markets across the region. The second project was focused on Robotic Process Automation (RPA ) , where I investigated in close cooperation with actuarial , accounting and IT professionals the possible implementation of RPA within a reinsurance framework.

• Developing a 5 year business strategy for the Retirement business, modelling projections and communicating with various stakeholders through the process • Carrying out a due diligence exercise for mergers and acquisitions and preparing a detailed financial risk evaluation on the target companies. In addition I was tasked with creating business projections for the entities post acquisition • Building a competitor analysis tool to help the management team to track and evaluate performance of competitors on the market • Evaluating the possible impact of several financial scenarios on the company's profitability and capital position (EC, SI and SII basis) • Construction of a cashflow projection model to give approximate results for assumption changes, which could be used to check prophet results. • Researching various jurisdictions on capital requirements for senior management and presenting the outcome
