Lead Hand

Jointly managed a team ranging from 12 to 30 people alongside one other Team Lead, reporting to the Night Shift Supervisor; team size varied throughout the year due to seasonal contract hires. Alternated between Inbound and Outbound Team Lead duties on a weekly basis. Inbound Team Lead primarily oversaw Receiving, Stocking, and Inventory duties, while Outbound Team Lead primarily oversaw Replenishment, Pick & Pack, and Shipping duties. Tracked completion of daily and weekly priorities and reallocated team resources as necessary to ensure key deadlines were met, and provide daily handover reports to the morning crew to note the status of any ongoing tasks and priorities. Developed standardized training manuals for Receiving, Pick & Pack, and Shipping to facilitate training and onboarding new staff. Training was a recurring challenge due to large fluctuations of new hires during seasonal hiring, so these manuals helped to save time spent training and also provided employees with reference tools to work more independently. Empowered our employees through one-on-one and team performance reviews. These included a review of progress toward personal/team KPI goals and scheduling additional trainings and certifications (if needed or requested). We also asked employees to identify key challenges or concerns they may have, and collaborated to create action items for both the employee(s) and for management to address these roadblocks.
