One of the most important parts of my job is increasing the accuracy of the power generation forecasts of wind farms and making day-ahead, weekly and monthly forecasts. I am also developing my independent energy generation forecast model which is my Ph.D. thesis that couples numerical weather prediction and machine learning models. Besides, data analytics, wind resource assessment, wind due diligence, designing and optimizing wind and solar farm layouts are also among my duties. Lastly, I am also working as a coordinator of the energy trading team. Some studies that I’ve been working on can be seen below; • Using machine learning (Boosting Trees, Neural Networks) and statistical models by using R programming language to increase the accuracy of the forecast. • Short-term wind power forecasting by coupling WRF which is an NWP model for downscaling and machine learning. • Energy analysis, micro siting, and analyzing monthly planned production of wind farms. • Power curve verifications of wind turbines by comparing the theoretical power curves of the manufacturer with calculated power. https://github.com/cemoze/3d-wind-turbine-power-curve-model • Assessing wind turbine performances and availability based on their alarm and warnings and, preparing weekly and monthly reports autonomously generated by R. • Forecasting Turkish electricity market clearing prices by using auto- regressive models (AR, ARIMA). • Calculating and visualizing wind speed anomalies over Turkey by using ECMWF ERA5 data. • Leading the energy trading team.

TARBİL - Tarımsal İzleme ve Bilgi Sistemi | Dec 2015 - Apr 2017

Data Analyst

Doing statistical analyses, data quality management, and imputing missing data by using the R programming language were my primary tasks at TARBIL. Some studies that I've worked on at TARBIL can be seen below; • Assigning the cloudiness by using solar radiation data and specifying the clearness index for different regions of Turkey. • Applying different spatial interpolation methods over Turkey by using automatic weather observation station data (InverseDistance Weighting and Kriging Method). • Managing and configuring real-time farm simulation. These algorithms include plant-water relationship and irrigation efficiency analysis by using FAO equations like the Penman-Monteith evapotranspiration formula. This study has also been applied to the mobile application which was developed for increasing the awareness of the farmers and this project and technical management of this project has been carried out by me. •Writing academic papers for conferences.
