Tesla | Jan 2020 - Jul 2022

Associate Project Manager / Software Engineer

Worked in the energy division of Tesla, responsible for creating of software solutions for the design team, automating sections of the design process, doing data analysis and continually looking for areas of opportunity with the mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. • Performed solar, structural, and electrical analysis to comply with authorities having jurisdiction and building codes. • Created a Chrome extension for internal web applications to improve the design team's efficiency. • Prototyped a deep learning image recognition software for red flag detection with over 90% accuracy using PyTorch-based Fast.AI and Google Cloud as a business case study. • Collaborated with software developers and program managers to automate AutoCAD routines and APIs through AutoLISP for over 100 users. • Played a critical role in Powerwall+ and Backup Switch product development writing the code required to implement the new product into the existing design process. Over 5800 PW+ and 600 Backup Switch units designed in Q2 2021, capable of cutting installation times by up to 80%. • Participated in the creation of Autoplansets to generate Solar Roof permitting plansets in under 2 minutes each without designer intervention. • Helped in building data pipelines to gather valuable data during the design process previously unavailable for business analysis. • Coordinated with product managers and a cross range team to redesign and pilot a minimum viable product for new simplified electrical diagrams testing multiple new features and setting the ground for further development.

An engineering internship in the Mexican Space Agency, working in the prototype development department. Coordinated a multidisciplinary team to develop a hybrid rocket engine for demonstration purposes using a systems engineering approach. • Built credibility, established rapport, and maintained communications with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization. • Maintained continuous alignment of program scope with strategic objectives and made recommendations to modify programs to enhance effectiveness.

Participant in the Mexican Infiniti Engineering Academy. One of the 10 young engineers selected from over 6,000 applicants in Mexico to contend for an internship with Infiniti UK and Renault Formula One Team.

Participated in a classified project for the Secretariat of National Defense, performed and consulted aerodynamic and structural computer-aided engineering analysis. • Collaborated with project managers, engineers, and required personnel to resolve design malfunctions and provide necessary technical information.

Cuauhtémoc IPN Aeroespacial | Feb 2017 - Aug 2018

Founder

Founded a team in order to engage in an international student design-build- launch competition for space-related topics organized by the American Astronautical Society and sponsored by NASA. Led in the Mechanical-Descent team. Responsible for CAE analysis, aerodynamic design, wind tunnel testing, composite structure manufacturing, and structural optimization. • Achieved the 5th place in 2017 and the 9th place in 2018. • Directed and monitored all facets of production including design selection, manufacturing, tests, and operation.

Laboratory Assistant

Collaborated on a classified aerospace project with the Mexican Space Agency and the Secretariat of National Defense in the Integration and Aerospace Tests Laboratory. Received training in project development and systems engineering while assisting in the design, integration, and testing phases of the project. • Worked with design engineers to ensure conformance of the engineering design with performance and quality specifications
