Administrator of COVID-19 Case Investigation

Overseeing Stamford's COVID-19 case investigation and outbreak response program. Manages and coordinates the activities of up to 15 employees, while working closely with schools, sports leagues, daycares, after-school programs, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. The job responsibilities include daily interactions with the Director of Health, as well as regular interactions with department heads and supervisors from other parts of the city's government, along with members of the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Supervisor of School Contact Tracing

Promoted from contact tracer by Stamford's director of nursing and dental services. Oversaw contact tracing for the city's public schools, working under the administrator of COVID-19 contact tracing and in cooperation with the school nurse supervisor. Had near-daily interactions with the principals and nurses at Stamford's 23 public school facilities.

COVID-19 Contact Tracer

Had daily phone interactions with dozens of city of Stamford residents in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Provided recommendations and guidance, as well as coordinated with community health workers to get quarantined individuals the assistance they needed to make it through their quarantine periods.

Election Clerk

Was in charge of overseas and military absentee ballots for the 2020 General Election and also helped with the issuing, receiving, and processing of regular absentee ballots during the unprecedented pandemic election. One-third of Stamford’s registered voters ended up voting absentee. Reported directly to the town clerk on certain issues, as well as to two assistant town clerks, while working under pandemic conditions from the Stamford Government Center, 5-7 days per week.

Election Worker

Held multiple positions during the 2020 election season. An Assistant Registrar during the August Presidential Primary, the District 15 Moderator for the November General Election, and called in for an emergency session of absentee ballot counting the Friday after Election Day. As the Moderator for District 15, was in charge of a polling site, supervising and facilitating free and fair elections involving ten employees, two support staff, and over 2,300 in- person votes cast.

Went door-to-door, up to 5 hours per day, guided by a US Census Bureau-issued special mobile phone and its related apps. Reported directly to a supervisor in Stamford, and had intermittent contact with various Census Field Managers from the Danbury region.

Long Term Substitute Teacher

As a substitute for Stamford Public Schools, initially tried different schools, in grades ranging from kindergarten to grade 12, but then received an offer from Dolan Middle School to remain there as a long-term co-teacher for 7th grade math. One day later, the school system closed and moved to full-time distance learning. During the rest of the school year, my co-teacher and I guided over 100 7th graders through one of the most surreal education experiences possible, while also participating in all staff meetings and professional development.

A pet project of mine, I attempted to build an online database of notes tailored to community leaders, politicians, and others attempting to make a positive impact on the world around them. The notes were curated from books and presented in document format, with the goal of bringing people together through greater understanding of all sides of a topic of disagreement. While I could not make it profitable, the reading and note project is a continuing passion of mine and is now approaching 200 books.

I worked six days per week, including four doubles, as the solo lunch front- of-house staff, and the evening bartender, while assuming managerial responsibilities whenever the owners were not present (often). I participated in an overhaul of the menu, completely updated and enhanced the wine list, and created an inventory system for all beverages, as well as acting as the liaison between staff and ownership. Working as part of a team and customer service were of paramount importance.
