The client wanted to create a tool to monitor the status of ingestion jobs running in the data lake to create a dashboard • Worked in a team to create a Java API to log ingestion job information into a MySQL database from a data lake ingestion tool during runtime Hadoop HDP 2.6 Cluster Replication • The client runs two HDP 2.6 clusters as production and development environments. A DistCp job is scheduled to run each day to copy the latest data to the development environment • Developed a replication tool to copy changes from the production cluster in near real time using Hive, MySQL, Kafka and Java Leading Global Pharmaceutical Company: November 2016 – January 2017 • The client managed hundreds of data sources and had information for each system at a very granular level. They found it difficult to merge and visualise this information to get a top level view of their systems • Worked in a team to merge and import this data into a MongoDB instance and visualised it by creating a mindmap using D3.js, MongoDB, PyMongo and Apache HTTP
