Product Specialist ICP-MS

N/A

Teledyne CETAC Technologies | Mar 2013 - Apr 2016

Laser Ablation Product Manager

Responsible for strategic direction and growth of laser based products through the entire lifecycle of each product. I managed a range of laser products, including pulsed lasers for ICP/ICP-MS (using solid state, excimer and femtosecond technology) and continuous wave lasers for noble gas mass spectrometry (both diode and CO2 systems), and enabled laser ablation business growth from ~$2.5M to over $6M in three years.

Teledyne CETAC Technologies | Jan 2012 - Mar 2013

Laser Ablation Product Specialist

Focused on the laser ablation products from CETAC Technologies, I was primarily responsible for providing applications support for both the sales and service groups during pre- and post-sales activities respectively, in addition to testing new product developments with the R&D group, and performing installations and training at OEM partner and customer sites. I also generated marketing materials for use at key conferences, such as scientific posters and brochures.

Teledyne CETAC Technologies | Sep 2010 - Dec 2011

European Technical Specialist

Responsible for installation and service of all CETAC products, ranging from autosamplers and rapid introduction systems, ultrasonic and desolvating nebulisers, to mercury analysers and laser ablation systems. I also fed back field intelligence into the product management team to aid product development and support decisions on strategic direction.

Loughborough University | Jul 2009 - Jul 2010

Research Associate

Carrying over from the EngD project, the project undertaken was to primarily evaluate and test prototype laser ablations cells, both with traditional LA-ICP- MS experiments and by CFD analysis.

Pfizer Pharmaceuticals | Jul 2002 - Jun 2003

Industrial Trainee

Sandwich UK Site Worked in the Technology Development group, using mainly Near Infrared Spectroscopy for Product Batch Conformity and Stability Testing, which entailed the use of Multivariate Statistics. Limited experience of NIR process control for mixing API's with excipients. Some experience was gained in designing sample preparation systems for mapping and imaging techniques such as Near Infrared Imaging, Raman Mapping, Confocal Laser Microscopy (3D surface imaging) and X- Ray Microtomography for spatial distribution of electron-dense regions in pharmaceutical delivery systems. The group was also concerned with robotic automation systems for many processes.
