■ Research Topic –Estimating acoustic measures of vocal fold periodicity, dysarthria prediction from speech signals, mild dementia prediction from speech signals and speech emotion recognition. ■ Methodology – Created a methodology to predict sentence modality in Dutch language using machine learning feed by acoustic voice metrics resulting in a speech therapy tool therapy tool (called Prosodietrainer) for dysarthric patients at University Hospital Antwerp (Universitair Ziekenhuis Antwerpen) in Belgium. ■ Evaluation Method – Developed a “first of its kind” dynamic time warping method to evaluate pitch detection algorithms. ■ Improvement – Succeeded in improving cognitive impairment prediction by 5% based on prosodic features and machine learning.
