Data Manager

I am the service lead responsible for all aspects of data management to the Assisted Conception Unit service, monitoring, validating and reporting on clinical activity, supporting audit and project work and providing analysis for service assessment and ongoing improvement. I am responsible for supporting the user management of the service’s bespoke clinical systems BabySentry and the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority data reporting system PRISM, delivering training to new users and liaising with suppliers and IT colleagues where necessary. I pioneer data collection processes for the service in response to growing data requirements from stake holders, monitoring organisations and funding bodies to assist in driving improvements in patient outcomes and reporting back on the utility of funds.

NHS Patient Pathway Co-ordinator (Cancer & Fertility Preservation Specialist Services)

Monitor and review patient care from the referral stage and/or treatment progress using the 18-week Patient Referral pathway in line with Trust and local policies. To identify the next steps in the patient care pathway based on the clinical need of the patient. Receive patient referrals and process them in line with timings and requirements as set out in Trust and National policies. Provide updates on all inquiries regarding patients' care and/or treatment on a pathway from patients, multidisciplinary teams, external Trusts and General Practitioners in a timely manner. I also attend relevant meetings and complete actions regarding the care of patients within the designated pathway. I perform occasional audits and collect data as required in relevant meetings, allowing the Trust to identify and improve treatment in patient cohorts. Identifying and suggesting improvements that can be made to the patient care pathway and/or the patient pathway tracking process. Monitor patients on their pathway and proactively find resolutions to improve the speed of treatment by working directly with clinicians and managers. Ensure issues that require resolution and escalation are directed to management as appropriate. Actively cultivate good working relationships with a wide range of clinical and managerial staff. Also responsible for collecting and updating patient information on the relevant databases in line with local policy, to ensure efficient pathway progress. Collaborate with other members of my team to analyse target breaches and report issues to management. I review and support development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures. Undertake a supervisory role of any administrative tasks commensurate with the grade required to support the delivery of high quality patient care. Actively participate in department development as appropriate and participate in departmental meetings and undertake any training as required to complete associated tasks.
