University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus | Jan 2021 - Present

Bioinformatics Scientist

Dr. Catherine Lozupone’s Lab | University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus The Lozupone lab focuses on taking experimental lab work and bioinformatics to find how the human gut microbiota composition drives the health and disease of their human host. Bioinformatics Research Assistant | Spring 2021 - Present ● Provides bioinformatic analyses for a Ketogenic diet project, detecting the changes to the gut microbiome of refractory epileptic children. ● Combs project which took fecal transplanted gnotobiotic mice and infected them with Streptococcus pneumoniae to determine gut microbiome differences against Immune cells changes in the lungs with Volare, a linear regression tool. ● Utilizes the Bash program Qiime2 for gut microbiome 16S gene sequencing processing and visualizations for alpha/beta diversity measures. ● Identifies the significance of the findings in R Studio and Python using statistical code with Anova, T-tests, and Linear Mixed Model Effects.

CU Denver | Anschutz Graduate School | May 2018 - Aug 2019

Laboratory Assistant

Dr. Christopher Phiel’s Lab | University of Colorado, Denver | Molecular Biology Lab Intern | May 2018 - May 2019 ● Performed wet-lab experiments research on mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs) utilizing transfection with plasmids to then use luciferase expression to identify the changes to RNA expression levels. ● Trained the new lab interns on Gibson cloning, transformations, and western blots. Also worked with qPCR on RNA isolations from mouse ESCs. Dr. Christopher Miller’s Lab | University of Colorado, Denver | Bioinformatic Lab Intern \ Fall 2018 ● Designed an annotation pipeline to annotate the genes, homologous sites, and perform phylogeny clarifications. The pipeline was designed to take Archaeal and Bacterial isolated sequences of wetland soil samples and draft genomes of methane-producing prokaryotes specifically. ● Maintained research with a detailed lab manual of continuous program changes on GITHUB for reproducibility.

Air National Guard | Mar 2016 - Mar 2019

Client Systems Technician

● Sustained and safeguarded government systems through effective troubleshooting, repair, and system performance analysis as a client systems technician. ● Team-lead on printer repair for the entire wing and maintained the change logs for each system's firmware update of each specific system.

United States Air Force | Mar 2012 - Mar 2016

Geospatial Analyst

intelligence analysis. ● Team Leader synchronized analytical support of Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) operations. Mission Coordinator responsible for keeping the remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) flight crew informed of all mission-essential data and target background information. Conducted mission logging for historical reference. Acted as liaison for analysts and down-range personnel. ● Certified Intelligence Trainer (IT) for Team Lead. Instructed 11 team members in hands-on training in both real-time and simulated mission scenarios. ● Worked with multi-cultural teams and provided coordination between all the parties, while deployed to Afghanistan/at home. ● Presented research briefings to 60+ analysts utilizing deep-dive analysis of multi-source intelligence.
