Business Intelligence Specialist

• Designed and implemented a solution replacing manual reports with Power BI service and RS, leveraging semantic models, data flows, and other Microsoft solutions. o Goal: Reduce FTEs in multiple areas, provide easier and transparent access to all organizational data, and improve reliability by creating automatic KPI tracking. o Challenge: Allow manual tuning when necessary while preserving data lineage. • Implemented Power Automate flows to collect data from email attachments, SharePoint, OneDrive, web APIs, Power BI datasets, etc., replacing VBA macros. • Coordinating a team to implement ETL processes on Pentaho for reporting automation, providing guidance and support. • Designing the data flow architecture of a dimensional data warehouse (DWH) to enable self-service Business Intelligence.

• Led the design and implementation of a new multisite product traceability platform using Agile methodologies. o Goal: Decreased the time required for finding a product genealogy by at least 1 hour per claim. o Challenge: Integration of different business logics and sources: MES, Process computers, Automatic Inspection Systems, etc. • Maintained an ETL application for product quality traceability in C# on .NET Framework 4.6, including integration, feature implementation, user support, and code optimization. • Created comprehensive documentation for Power BI hybrid platform administration and best practices. • Implemented and supported Power BI RS for dashboard and KPI monitoring with multiple data sources (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle). • Participation in the implementation of a POC of a Big Data platform with Hadoop Hortonworks v3.1.0, including the ingestion of product data via NiFi and its storage in Hbase.

• Designed and implemented a Real Time Alarm Management System on proprietary HMI in the Sinter Plant per ISA 18 standards and a report in Power BI for further analysis. o Goal: Operator screen alarms reduced by 70%. o Challenge: Team effort for determine which where the most significative alarms • Designed and implemented a pilot test for migrating the automatic reporting system from Oracle Cognos to Microsoft Power BI Service. • Proposed a Plant Information Management System, starting with a data ingestion layer based on SQL Server to integrate relational data sources.

Electrical Project Engineer

• Special assignment as a technical advisor of a brand-new Arcelor Mittal’s plant located in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, this plant aimed to become the world’s largest factory of seamless pipe and OCTG. Proposals for correction or attenuation of non-safe conditions trough automation. • Management of automation projects for production, safety and maintenance departments, including the design and implementation of electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics systems. Supervision of external contractors. • Migration and revamping of outdated automation systems from a relay logic assembly to a ControlLogix and GEFanuc based system.
