Lynn University | Jan 2024 - Present

Associate Professor

I'm an Associate Professor at Lynn University's College of Arts and Sciences, where I ignite students' curiosity in chemistry, biochemistry, scientific literacy, and advanced topics in biology, from undergraduates to graduate students, and advanced topics in biology among graduate researchers. My scientific, educational, and mentoring philosophies, which leverage my network of collaborators, translate into guiding students in advanced biology topics, weaving together expertise in biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, Evaluating Differences in Prevalence of Food Allergies Between Two Geographic Regions: Australia and US Identification of Immunoglobulin E- Binding Proteins of the Xerophilic Fungus Aspergillus penicillioides Crude Mycelial Mat Extract and Serological Reactivity Assessment in Subjects with Different Allergen Reactivity Profiles environmental health, data sciences, and computational approaches. By intersecting these scientific fields, I integrate students into my research of identifying biomarkers that reveal respiratory health risks in complex environmental and occupational settings. These opportunities equip them with skillsets, knowledge, and experiences that help them in their career, professional, personal, intellectual, and social well-being. I actively collaborate with colleagues from the College of Arts and Sciences to build vibrant learning communities, fostering deep connections and peer-driven learning. Integrating best practices in STEM pedagogy, I ensure my classroom is a launchpad for innovation, critical thinking, and scientific exploration. Larkin University I Learning Together | Aug 2017 - May 2022

Assistant Professor at the College of Biomedical Sciences

This was an exciting experience faculty appointment at Larkin University, in which I taught Biochemistry, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics to graduate students seeking careers in different healthcare trajectories. Also, as the Principal Investigator of a leading respiratory health research laboratory, I successfully led many extramurally-funded collaborative projects that harness the power of immunology, microbiology, exposure science, environmental health, and data science methodologies. In addition to my research endeavors, I contributed to mentoring graduate students throughout their application cycles for medical, pharmacy, dental, and Ph.D. programs. Furthermore, I played an instrumental role in shaping curriculum development and contributing to the accreditation preparation process at Larkin University. This experience highlights my multifaceted involvement in Biomedical Sciences, which spans teaching, research, mentorship, and higher education administration.

Larkin University I Learning Together | Oct 2018 - May 2020

Chair - Larkin University Research Advisory Committee

I had the privilege of leading a highly skilled team of seasoned researchers in the critical task of providing recommendations to advance Larkin University's scientific research initiatives. Our collective expertise and dedication allowed us to offer valuable insights and guidance in various areas relevant to the institution's research objectives. Through collaborative effort and careful analysis, we delivered comprehensive recommendations that promise to enhance the university's scientific research endeavors.
