University of Waterloo | Jan 2023 - Present

Research Assistant

▪ Worked as a member of integrated project team in highly collaborative work environment. ▪ Met regularly with research team to identify issues and maintain study alignment with objectives. ▪ Used an industry standard software programming language to examine the sensitivity of the thermal structure and the circulation patterns in a simple Idealized Lake and Lake Erie to external driving forces (e.g., observed forcing data from the Environment Canada) to understand their implications on water quality and able to guide lake managers’ decisions. ▪ Used advanced statistical approaches and software tools like Python to translate data from the model into accessible patterns such that the policy stakeholders can easily understand and make informed decisions. ▪ Analyzed large database of different variables of observed data for the 6 months of interest in 2008 and compared with the modeled results using time series plots to easily visualize the outliers then made acceptable conclusions based on the findings.

Lake Futures, University of Waterloo | Sep 2019 - Present

Researcher

• Employed the hydrodynamics solver MITgcm to examine the sensitivity of the thermal structure and the circulation patterns in a simple Idealized Lake and Lake Erie to external driving forces (e.g., observed forcing data from the Environment Canada) in order to understand their implications on water quality and able to guide lake managers’ decisions. • Used Python to make animations and images of the summer thermocline and circulation patterns. • Analyzed and validated the results from the model then made acceptable conclusions based on the findings.
