I lead the software engineering team to create a large database for research. My roles involved: a) Python Developer / Software Engineer: developing web scrapers to automate the efficient collection of GBs of data from public websites (Python, SQLAlchemy, Selenium, Pandas, Dask, etc.); setting-up and managing the dev environment (CI/CD, Git, etc.) for the team. b) SQL developer: designing & deploying a postgreSQL db (dimension & fact tables, normalization, ddl, indices, etc.) to hold the scraped. c) Data Scientist: developing and validated multiple indicators and metrics, developed/trained machine learning models on the novel data (segmentation, clustering, etc.); documenting the project with Sphinx.

Main tasks include: - Developing machine learning models for the early detection of highly valuable patents, combining business theory, behavioral theory, patent meta-data and patent analytics - Developing, validating and improving patent-based indicators of technological innovation - Creating data pipelining models to automatize the collection, ingestion and harmonization of large, complex raw data Other tasks: • presented and discussed at international conferences; • reviewed for scientific journals (Management Science, Scientometrics); • collaborated in various research projects in the fields of innovation and intellectual property; • supervised 27 master's theses on innovation and intellectual property subjects.
