Lead of Conservation project

I design with some colleagues a project for in-situ conservation of Encephalartos barteri ssp. barteri. Threatened, this species is actually the only gymnosperm known in Benin and endemic to West Africa (Benin, Nigeria, Ghana, and Togo). As E. barteri barteri is undergoing overexploitation by local population, I aim at mapping its suitable habitats distribution in Benin. Then, we will rely on the potential distribution map to draw managements and conservation actions, using Community Based Approach.
