As apart of the Miami-Dade Police Student Internship, I and two other students had the opportunity to work with sworn officers and support staff doing real police work (for 16 weeks) with the best equipment and technology the field has to offer, especially in a major metropolitan area. The internship focused on providing us with enhanced learning experiences that we cannot find anywhere else through the observation of police activities. We were assigned to different entities throughout for 16 weeks: these include Robbery, Special Patrol Bureau, Homicide, Forensic Services, Uniform Patrol, Special Victims, Economic Crimes, and so on.
