Senior Data Analyst

Provide analytics for Overstock's keyword & navigation search (internal), sponsored products, and recommendations teams. ∙ Data Modelling: built the model backing Overstock's first data-driven approach to product banner messaging (e.g., "Best Seller", "Top Rated"). In A/B tests against the prior manual system, our banners demonstrated a lift of $500K in profit annually. ∙ Statistical Analysis: Support the AB testing of new features developed by Overstock's Search product teams, and calculate requested metrics used to determine the winning test variant; Act as a statistical consultant for product managers, especially surrounding test significance and power ∙ Databases: Query from Hadoop clusters or BigQuery warehouse with SQL to gather user data for several Overstock's technology products. R and Python are used to conduct more advanced analytics and scripting, such as statistical power & financial estimating of proposed site tests. Analytics scripts are Git- tracked and I manage a BitBucket repository for my analytics group. ∙ Dashboard Reporting: Model search KPIs and data sources in Looker's LookML modeling language. Build reports in Looker and Visual Insights that provide actionable intelligence from Search KPIs such as conversion rate, and click-thru rate, and from friction metrics like exit rate, and scroll depth
