Laboratory Manager

• Led pathology department with annual workload of 500,000 tests, operational budget of $4.2 million, and 40 employees. Provided laboratory services for 55,000 beneficiaries. • Created operationally relevant reports through electronic health record data mining, cleaning, and analysis to enable organizational decision making. • Ensured pathology department compliance with The Joint Commission, College of American Pathologists, Food and Drug Administration, and American Association of Blood Banks. Resulted in one citation across a 2,000-requirement checklist.

Deputy Laboratory Manager

• Generated weekly Ad hoc reports for Department of Defense Global Respiratory Surveillance Program, mined electronic health record data of influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, and SARSCoV-2 prevalence for community awareness. • Created monthly excel reports of quality indicators to analyze and monitor quality assurance status of the laboratory, analysis facilitated timely corrective action of any issues. • Revised over 150 digital Microbiology standard operating procedures vital to accreditation compliance, no deficiencies found by accrediting agency.

US Army | Aug 2008 - Jul 2016

Medical Laboratory Technician

• Received, stored, and shipped blood/blood products in deployed environment. Facilitated world’s first blood transfusions during en route healthcare. • Performed wide array of diagnostic laboratory testing at a major medical center with a workload of 3.5 million tests annually. • Submitted College of American Pathologists proficiency testing with zero unacceptable results. • Completed daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly instrument maintenance on seven unique testing platforms. Ensured quality control of over 180 unique analytes daily. • Collected four platelet units daily (for 70 days) via platelet apheresis in support of Operation Enduring Freedom X. Maintained golden-hour capability resulting in 99% battlefield survival rate. • Performed blood deglycerolization to alleviate critical blood shortage in austere environments, produced 28 units of blood in 24 hours.
