Office of the Commissioner (OCOMM) Primary Duties of the Position Include: 1. Prepare materials in support of presentations for the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other BLS officials. 2. Coordinate all logistics for BLS events, such as invited speakers and panel discussions. 3. Gather and compile information and data analysis in response to requests from the Department of Labor, other Federal agencies, Congress, the news media, and other stakeholders. 4. Review Congressional testimony, proposed legislation, correspondence, decision memos, and other items produced by the Department of Labor 5. Distribute material to BLS offices for review; draft initial BLS response. 6. Gather information from BLS offices and compile initial draft of periodic reports required by Department of Labor. 7. Draft internal and external blogs and other material for distribution. 8. Document standard operating procedures for activities in the Office of the Commissioner; provide guidance to future ROAD Incumbents. 9. Participate in staff meetings with the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and others to discuss progress of ongoing activities and identify issues. This is a temporary, full-time detailee position obtained through the U.S. Department of Labor's ROAD program.
