Passenger Service Agent

During the period I have worked as a Passenger Services Agent at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 for Menzies Aviation. I have obtained a plethora of skills for which I provide a description for these below and how they are used within the job: Travel Document Verification: I am required to stay up to date on the latest travel documentation regulations for passengers of all nationalities. This involves checking documents of travel that vary from EVisas (which are often attached to passports electronically and need to be verified systematically) to physically stamped visas (mainly Schengen Visas due to me working for European Airlines) and even travel documents of stateless or alien passport holders. Often the knowledge for this can be verified by systems like TIMATIC however, for roles such as the passport checks for self-boarding gates and self-bag drop off systems the knowledge for this must be solidified mentally without the use of a system. Teamwork and Leading: Due to the nature of being a boarding agent we are often delegated roles in a team of 2 to 3 people depending on airline from which we need to lead the boarding, control the arrivals or complete documentation checks for most of the general boarding passengers. Customer Experience and Service: We are thoroughly trained to be able to provide the best experience to the customer as possible as we are the people passengers communicate with as such, we are representatives and the face of the airline that passengers choose to travel with. Jet Bridge Operation: I have been trained and licensed on operating jet bridges which require precise control when attaching to the aircraft due to the sensitivity of the job it is a very important and licensed skill. Altea: I have been taught to use Amadeus Altea systems ranging from the standard DCS to GoNow (an older system). I have been trained in proficient usage of these systems and am able to navigate and utilise these systems confidently and swiftly.
