University of Edinburgh | Aug 2021 - Present

Guest Lecturer/ Tutor

Supervised seven dissertations for MSc Landscape and Wellbeing. Guest lecturer for three SCQF Level 11 courses: data representation using QGIS, walking interview methods and thematic analysis. Tutored a cohort of thirty-plus students to address research design, statistical analysis methods and general administration.

Senior Landscape Architect

Landscape visual impact assessment for major energy projects in Scotland Design and construction detailing for retail park and landscape remediation project. Site inspection, clerk of works and contract administration for the construction phase. Development of BIM standards and templates for the landscape division.

Senior Landscape Architect

Urban design team to deliver master planning for the public realm project of Cardiff Arena (value £150m). Led planning applications independently for the area's major mixed-use, residential and school projects. Developed construction information for tender and administered construction projects independently. Assisted with graphical presentation and report for landscape assessments

Macgregor Smith | Jun 2016 - Apr 2020

Landscape Architect

Succeeded in bidding on a project to review and update the landscape character of rural areas comprising more than 700 sqkm. The assessment involves 31 district character types, 160 sqkm of ecological designations, woodlands and stewardship areas. Awarded 3 projects by introducing GIS software to accelerate the production of bid information within 6 months. Coordinated 2 large-scale residential development (each of more than 100 ha) in 2 years and attained regulatory approvals for 6 intermediate phases. Prepared and developed planning packages independently for the aforementioned 6 intermediate phases. Collaborated with senior members to compile tender information between 50 million and 120 million pounds. Designed layout and detailed construction of furnishings, signs and incidental play features for a Special Alternative Natural Greenspace of size more than 40 ha. The area serves as a buffer to a Special Protection Area, and conserves and manages more than 20 ha of existing woodland.

Research Assistant

Performed thorough research and thematic analysis on a study involving 17 ex-prisoners to investigate the impact of incarceration and the identity of fatherhood. Designed, developed, and modified research protocols for coding and analysis alongside teams of researchers. Reviewed literature and reported findings, resulting in 2 published papers with more than 25 citations in 3 years.

Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital | Feb 2013 - Feb 2014

Research Assistant

Worked with clinical psychologists to research and develop a two-month social and emotional intervention for 74 ASD adolescents. Designed, refined, and administered interview protocols and data collection for baseline and post-intervention social and emotional competence assessment. Performed statistical analysis to assess treatment efficiency based on two cohorts in consecutive years.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong | Sep 2010 - Jul 2012

Project Coordinator

Led two government-funded research projects of total value above HKD 200,000, inquiring about the design of learning activities and learning space in tertiary education. The effectiveness of different learning space types was assessed with qualitative research methods administered to 150 participants, including photo-elicitation and go-along interviews. Developed tutoring manuals for 80-100 lecturers and teaching assistants yearly to promote the effective delivery of in-class learning activities. Contributed to three academic publications within two years of employment and presented findings at the International Conference on e-Learning. Partnered with professors to introduce and examine the use of clickers on mobile phones, which is now fully implemented across the university.
