This role was linked to an experimental project where the goal was to explore ways to facilitate the use of data stored in a library and archive system maintained at the University of Antwerp Library. As part of this role, I survey the data stored by the system, analysed the current uses, reviewed literature on data analytics and data science applications for libraries, and proposed workflows and product for development.

In this position, my responsibility was the annual maintenance and update of a specialised database VABB-SHW that keeps track of research publications in the universities in Flanders. My tasks included cleaning and validating data, transforming delivered data into a format suitable for further processing, and communicating with stakeholders. In addition, I analysed the workflows and proposed alterations for increased efficiency and data quality.

output within the social sciences and humanities. I approached this topic from the perspective of Science, Technology, and Society studies (STS). As part of my research, I designed various approaches to critically investigate these databases and applied them in four empirical studies: a survey of European databases, two bibliometric studies, and at ethnographic inquiry. inquire about this topic and using these methods I surveyed Europe to identify and analyse these databases. The main finding of my work was that national databases are deeply embedded in their contexts. A consequence is that many of the characteristics translate into specific database designs and consequently to the insights that are generated using these databases. In other words, insights about research that are acquired using national databases are strongly mediated by the technical, social, cultural, as well as political layers of these databases.

Art Projects Manager

This position covers series of activities that I carried out while being art student and later art educator in Latvia. The content of these projects ranged from production of art works to organization of educational activities and entertaining events. Some of the projects: - 2014 and 2013 ‘Contemporary Jurkalne’. Contemporary art exhibitions in Jurkalne, Latvia (funded by State Culture Capital Foundation, Latvia and Ventspils region council,Latvia) - 2014 ‘Contemporary art and design lab’. Computer games design and conceptual graphic design summer school for young artists and designers (funded by State Culture Capital Foundation, Latvia and Jurkalne council, Latvia) 2010-2014 Art workshops for children 2007-2009 Various projects for young Latvian artists In this position my responsibility was to create an idea and the make sure that it is implemented in the right time and place. In more formal terms, I did all the planning, fund-raising, managing, implementing and to some extent also promoting the projects. Also, I may need to note that I was the author of most of the ideas for these projects.
