Identified and led effort to apply data science and machine learning to increase sales and streamline processes. Evangelize the importance of data-driven decision making to management. Developed C# solutions to manage inventory, integrate with Amazon Marketplace Web Services (MWS) and automate customer service activities. Shipping Cost Prediction: Increased sales by implementing and deploying a machine learning model which predicts shipping costs accurately. Wrote training and prediction scripts using the H2O framework in R to create and deploy a machine learning model to predict optimal shipping prices. Gathered historical data, performed feature engineering and deployed the model to production. As a result, an additional 200,000 items were sold. Model utilizes a customer word2vec word embedding model in H2O to convert product text into numeric vectors. Enables our AI models to transform natural language contained in product data into usable features. Developed and deployed a demand application using Shiny which allows users to analyze individual SKUs. Displays charts with revenue, demand and landed price over time. Provides insights into price sensitivity and its effects on demand and revenue. Vendor Churn Prediction: Developed a proof of concept K-Nearest Neighbors model in python to predict if an active vendor is likely to turnover or churn. Users can take action to prevent most valuable vendors from severing ties with the company. Product Matching Model: Created a machine learning model to predict whether or not raw inventory data entering the inventory system should be bound to an existing item in the product catalog. The model processes over 1MM records per year, freeing up users’ time and easing congestion in the product data pipeline. Sale Price Recommendation Model: Developed a machine learning model to predict a fully loaded sale price for items that have not yet sold. The model was trained using over one million sales records. Added custom logic to recommend a course of action in order to lower the final sale price. Developed a user interface in ASP.NET Core MVC to display each item, its recommended sale price and the recommended action to take. Customer Service Portal: Created and deployed company’s customer service application in ASP.NET MVC to support both remote and internal users. Created process to automatically respond to incoming customer emails. Created a process to automatically assign emails to agents based on business rules. Inventory Management: Scrum Master and Project Manager for team developing company’s inventory management system (VIMS). Gathered business and technical requirements, facilitated daily stand up meetings. Introduced the team to scrum and work item tracking in Team Foundation Server. Actively managed risks and provided guidance on program design. Implemented web application in ASP.NET MVC so inventory and pricing teams can manage incoming product data.
