Post Doctoral Fellow

As a postdoctoral researcher with the Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research housed in the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability stationed at the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory I build predictive models of algal biomass and toxin levels for Lake Erie and Lake Huron. These models combine riverine and lake water quality data with hydrological models to define the combination of conditions that lead to harmful algal blooms and algal toxin release.

University of Windsor | Oct 2017 - Dec 2019

Post Doctoral Fellow

Building on my biological research completed during my graduate work at Boston University, I led projects investigating the fate and effect of anthropogenic nutrients and their impacts to rivers in the Great Lakes region. Using a suite of dissolved nutrients, sediment metals, and nutrient isotopes in a framework of multivariate statistical analysis I have identified nutrient sources within the Detroit River and quantified the impact of greenhouse agriculture in southwestern Ontario's Leamington Tributaries.
