Market Intelligence Manager

- Led the Market Model program: TELUS’ competitive intelligence tracker and forecast in the wireline division. During my time in the role, I modernized the program: moving it from Excel to Google Sheets, automating processes and reducing the time to update files from 3 days to 5 minutes. - Summarized and reported internally on competitor’s financial and business results, synthesizing data in order to make detailed estimates relating to their internal operations. For example, I sent out a quarterly email summarizing the results of TELUS’ main competitor that was filled with insights and research not found anywhere else in the company. - Led a project to create reporting on product intensity. Set up the reporting and data requirements from the ground up, worked with a variety of other teams to ensure data accuracy. Summarized complex data sets and forecasted future performance and then reported monthly on progress to leadership. - Automated business processes & marketing projects using JavaScript and Google Apps Script. For example, I built a program that automatically downloaded data from the Statistics Canada website, saved it on Google Drive and updated my dashboards. - Conducted research on various marketing related strategic areas, evaluated company performance and presented findings to a wide variety of audiences. For example, I did a market sizing of the company’s performance within different multicultural groups, age groups, and in rural areas that helped the company achieve significant market share gains. - Significantly expanded the scope of research conducted, all while creating interactive dashboards on websites to make KPIs and estimates easy to read to a wide variety of internal customers. - Analyzed data (for example from surveys) using statistical methods and sound research principles to identify actionable insights that helped inform strategic decisions across the business.

Some examples: placemats, street boards, serving trays, flying banners, table covers, parasols, textiles, sunglasses, plastic cups, writing slates, and beer coasters. •Researched market trends and competing brands (Heineken, Leffe) in order to create new and effective promotions, POSDs, kits for salespeople, and special events. •Collaborated closely with the marketing department, the sales force, the legal department and external suppliers in France and China in order to execute customer-marketing strategy. •Created a beer menu development program for the sales force from the ground up, which remunerated points of sale for using the company’s logos in their menus. •Designed promo kits used by bars, cafe’s and restaurants during more than 15 special events in France (including 24h du mans, the Armada de Rouen, the Braderie de Lille, Printemps de Bourges, Garorock, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, etc). •Prepared detailed excel reports summarizing POSD inventory, stock, consumption and projected trends for future periods.

Youth Service Officer

• Presented effectively to high school students in groups of up to 100 on job search skills, labour standards and work safety. • Supervised media relations for the centre and acted as official media spokesman. • Co-ordinated the purchase of advertising for the centre by negotiating with media companies. • Designed and constructed a large parade float with a tropical theme for the Capital Ex parade that was seen by over 200,000 people.
