Jaguar Land Rover | Dec 2022 - Present

Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist at JLR I have worked across the Finance and Supply Chain domains within the business as part of a team of junior and Senior Data Scientists in Agile. Within the Finance Domain I collaborated closely with Finance stakeholders and investigated the possibility of Time Series Forecasting for Capital Expenditure and worked on a GCP Dataform Pipeline to incoporate working day into invoices to help predict invoice spend . Within Engineering I collaborated with other Senior Data Scientists and Data Scientist on a Tensorflow model in Vertex AI to predict the coefficient of Drag on Wheel Rims. For the Supply Chain area of the business I performed cosine similarirty to identify similar features across model years and substitute for the closest equivalen into the new year. I also created in Tableau a visualisation of desirable features using percentage appearance on a car vs how long the model took to reach a customer. More recently I have focussed on architecting and creating reusable ML Engineering architectures using Cloud Functions to deploy to an API endpoint for a running model. Also setting up an end to end ML workflow with Kubeflow.

InMotion Ventures | Jul 2021 - Dec 2022

Data Scientist

As the only Data Scientist in InMotion I have been involved in a variety of different data projects across two automotive ventures the OUT and Pivotal. For the OUT I have performed analysis on one of the car parks using transactional Data in Google Big Query as well as plotting Longitude and Latitude data from tracking data by extracting it using pyspark and then using bokehpackage to plot on a map. This allowed for discovery of potential reasons for a customer to rent in addition to finding hotspot areas where cars were delivered. In addition to this I have provided analysis around payments for drivers delivering and collecting cars with to optimising the payment driver gets for delivering further without increasing the price customers pay dramatically. For Pivotal, I created a Python script to help improve the Data Quality between Car Subscription payments and Delivery tracking. This has helped improve the Data Quality from 60% to 80%. In addition to this working closely alongside the Product Manager I have extracted data from Salesforce using api connection in Python to calculate customer lifetime value and scope out how to reward loyal customers.

IAG Loyalty | Nov 2018 - Jul 2021

Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist I have built a recommender package in Python utilising sklearn.decomposition.NM, LightFM and snakemake to produce a DAG. This has been used for our BA and Aer Lingus eStore to recommend affiliate collection partners, to determine the Next Best Collection Non Air Partner and Next Best Destination for a customer redeeming Avios. For the British Airways eStore this resulted in 90% of users favouriting the partner given to them. In addition to recommender systems I have worked on Propensity models for Ancillary, Car Hire Collection and for marketing a credit card collection partner to our US customer base.

Senior Associate in Data Assurance & Analytics

As a senior associate in Data assurance I have performed a number of roles. The first is an interest recalculation for a FTSE Banking client on 20 million rows in T-SQL. This involved creating an automated load in SSIS to load the data into a common format. I have also contributed to the design in Qlikview of a dashboard for an NHS trust focusing on the theatres side of the visualisation and underlying data load from SQL. I have also created a demand forecasting workflow in Alteryx and developed a multivariate time series within R for a brewery. Another important aspect of the role is the training of more junior members of the team and I have contributed as a tutor at a national level. Finally I have contributed at a number of recruitment events talking to university students and have been group assessing during the recruitment process.

I also assisted in the creation of a new check to do with Trading and Settlement days by devising the method of outputting in excel as well as creating as adding the steps to perform onto a check sheet. My Day to day duties can be summarised as follows • Investigate and resolve reported issues • Communicate updates effectively and promptly to the customer • Log, prioritise and keep issues up to date on the issue tracking system • Follow detailed procedures consistently and accurately • Handle demands of other groups within Fidessa and balance the sometimes conflicting demands of those departments carefully • Involvement in data system checks throughout the day with the aim of identifying and resolving issues before they impact our customers • Build up and maintain a knowledge of the Fidessa database structure and what the various types of data are used for from a business perspective (e.g. reference data, market data, static data etc). • Escalate issues to team leaders and management as appropriate
