Computer System Engineer

• Manage and maintain CATOS (Terminal Operating System), overseeing servers (domain, application, database, and storage), switches, wired and wireless networks. • Serve as the CATOS administrator, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance across PCs, switches, and wireless devices (PDAs, VM3s, RDT handhelds). • Responsible for the wireless network infrastructure, including access points, Wi-Fi distribution, and device connection quality. • Oversee network infrastructure, including optical fiber, WIMAX, leased lines, and wired connections, ensuring smooth operation. • Collaborate with external partners, including Giza Systems (Egypt), IBEX (Egypt), and Total Soft Bank (South Korea), for network, electronics and system maintenance respectively. • Manage the OCR system, responsible for the performance and connectivity of cameras, servers, and PCs at 5 port gates, ensuring smooth operation of automatic license plate and container number reading. • Coordinate with Prime for Trading (Egypt) and VISY (Finland) for OCR system integration and performance. • Develop applications to enhance operational processes, contributing to system improvement and performance optimization.
