My Work Experience

Where I've interned and worked during my career.

Self-employed | Apr 2022 - Present

Desktop App Developer

Developed a GUI using Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) to rank and fit models to 1D data Configured GitHub Actions for automated testing and code-coverage reports Packaged the program for distribution to Windows, MacOSX, and Linux environments Built a wordpress website with PHP and SQL backend support to sell software products

University of Toronto | Sep 2014 - Mar 2022

Graduate Research Assistant

Studied and further developed a theoretical framework for a more precise understanding of fundamental particle interactions. Used Mathematica to perform complex symbolic computations with the goal of predicting high- energy physical processes. Became very familiar with the current scientific literature in order to find ideas and methods to be used in my own research purposes. My research required abstract analytical thinking, and my writing conveys these difficult ideas in a clear and pedagogical manner,

University of Toronto | Sep 2014 - Apr 2020

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year undergraduates the foundations of classical-era physics. I created tutorial plans, taught the material in classrooms of 20-100 students, and graded submissions with a tough-but-fair attitude. Courses: - Introduction to Physics I and II (PHY 131/132) (x1) - Classical Mechanics (PHY 254) (x5) - Advanced Classical Mechanics (PHY 354) (x5)

The University of Edinburgh | Sep 2013 - Aug 2014

Masters Student

Accelerated MSc program. Over the course of 8 months I took 12 graduate- level physics and math courses with an emphasis towards Quantum Field Theory. The final 4 months were spent writing a dissertation about determining the strong coupling constant using Lattice Field Theory methods. Used C++ and ROOT to fit numerical data and propagate uncertainty to find confidence intervals for the quantities of interest.

Carleton University | May 2012 - Aug 2013

Summer Research Assisstant

Worked in supersymmetry phenomenology investigating the effect of superparticle branching fractions on exclusion confidence for various supersymmetric models. Wrote UNIX shell scripts to tie the SUSY-HIT, Prospino, Madgraph5, Pythia, PGS and Delphes packages together into a streamlined codebase to simulate the production and showering of supersymmetric particles at the LHC. Wrote C++ code for ROOT to replicate analyses from the ATLAS and CMS experiments.

Carleton University | May 2011 - Aug 2011

Summer Research Student

Worked with simulations to improve the techniques eye plaque brachytherapy for eye cancers. Developed software in C++ and performed literature searches that collectively allowed for the creation of an anatomically correct, materially realistic model of the human eye.

Carleton University | May 2010 - Aug 2010

Summer Research Student

Experimented with numerical techniques for experimental particle physics. Developed a genetic algorithm in C++ for the purpose of improving track resolution in Time Projection Chambers, a likely detector apparatus for tracking particles at the future International Linear Collider.
