My Work Experience

Where I've interned and worked during my career.

Washington State Department of Health | Jul 2024 - Present

Data Modernization Intern

I joined a data modernization initiative to explore how public health surveillance data is shared with Washington’s 29 federally recognized Tribes. My role involved researching ethical frameworks for data sharing and privacy- preserving methods like FHIR interoperability and PPRL Clean Rooms, then collaborating with stakeholders to recommend secure, sovereignty-respecting solutions. Ultimately, I delivered on an advisory report for modernizing data- sharing processes while honoring Tribal data sovereignty—an experience that strengthened my commitment to ethical data governance.

Dreamclinic Massage | Jan 2020 - Apr 2021

Operations Manager, Corporate Wellness Division

At the very start of my tenure, the pandemic hit Washington state, presenting unprecedented challenges for our team of mobile massage therapists supporting workplace wellness programs across multiple states. I quickly adapted by streamlining scheduling with Asana, which reduced our administrative time by 30%, and by launching an in-home massage service with integrated FileMaker billing—this helped recapture 20% of our lost corporate wellness revenue. I also developed and delivered clinician training aligned with evolving public health guidelines to ensure compliance and maintain client trust. This experience taught me the value of operational agility, effective communication, and innovative service development during times of crisis.

Dreamclinic Massage | May 2019 - Jan 2020

Field Manager, Puget Sound

I expanded our team of over 30 massage therapists by 40% by optimizing hiring workflows and digitizing onboarding processes, ensuring we could meet the growing demand from corporate wellness programs in the Puget Sound region. This approach not only reduced staffing delays for corporate clients with open contracts but also improved operational efficiency through streamlined inventory audits and supply fulfillment, contributing to increased regional revenue potential.

Cortiva Institute | Sep 2018 - Jul 2019

Instructor

I taught foundational massage courses, developing training materials that equipped students with essential skills. I also advised the school’s Student Council and organized community events, like “Massage Makes Me Happy Day," to build enthusiasm, foster peer support, and improve retention and successful outcomes.

Multiple Companies | Apr 2008 - Sep 2018

Massage Therapist, Yoga Instructor, and Primary Caregiver

My passion for health and wellness emerged from personal experiences supporting my family through medical challenges. While balancing primary caregiving responsibilities, I developed and taught yoga classes and provided therapeutic massage services. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of healthcare delivery from both the provider and patient perspectives, fueling my current pursuit of health information management.

Monster | Feb 2002 - Apr 2008

Research Project Manager & Data Analyst

At Tickle Inc., a startup pioneering online personality tests, I managed the research and development of our premium test products. I collected, extracted, and transformed data using SQL and performed statistical analyses with SAS, then coded the results to deliver personalized insights. This work helped engage over 150 million visitors in their search for self-discovery and ensured continuity during an acquisition by maintaining an inventory of test products. Tickle Inc. (acq.
