Middle School Mathematics Teacher

I worked directly with our youth to mentor them in having healthy interactions with each other as well as the world around them. I achieved this through social and interaction skills from the college level to the secondary educational level in the field of mathematics. While working with the generation of tomorrow, I have lead teams of students who have created social events for children who live in horrific living environments as well as directing activities involving alcohol awareness on a college campus. My recent profession in mathematics focused on teaching subjects from Pre-Algebra to Geometry. I taught Saxon Mathematics. My first year this ranged from Math 7/6 to Algebra 2, with one student in Statistics. The math program was set up in a independent study setting for the students. I changed this form of teaching my second year to a lecture base setting with direct instruction. I taught Pre- Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and a little of Algebra 2. I believe that the change to direct instruction increased the students' retention.
