Full Stack Software Engineer Student

New Vision Foundation Full Stack is a 24-week intensive program meant to prepare students for employment in software development. The main curriculum used by the program focuses on stack of JavaScript, Ruby, PostgresSQL and Ruby on Rails. Students learn front and back-end development. Front-end includes frameworks like HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, JQuery. Back-end includes database and server-side frameworks such as Ruby on Rails and PostgresSQL. I worked on an educational site for small business. I developed the user interface which allows clients to register and login as a teacher or student. As a registered student, they are able to browse a collection of lessons. As a registered teacher, they are able to post lessons for students to buy and benefit. I worked in a team of 4 other students to develop a dynamic website for a local non-profit called Pearls of Hope. The project involved building a secure payment interface, a blog that updates parents and students on classes or events being offered, and an administrative system that allows admins to seamlessly change or update anything on the site. All while designing the site to be visually appealing and user-friendly.
