Accommodation Advisor

Advising offenders in the community and custody to help them find their own housing while working closely with the Probation service and external agencies. I manage a high caseload of service users, mainly providing advice over the phone but also in person when required. My work involves keeping up to date with the current housing situation, making contacts with external services and joint working with organizations to enable the best outcome for the service users

Team Manager

Team manager of the Tenancy Sustainment service. The service supports people either moving from supported accommodation of off the streets to their own permanent accommodation and offers intensive support weekly. Support is flexible and designed around each individual with a strong focus on a strength based approach The team includes two tenancy sustainment officers who have a caseload of 8 clients, and two peer mentors who are in place to support identified clients with confidence, sociable and personal improvement support needs. The service is a pilot running alongside the Homeless Outreach Partnership (HOP) to reduce homelessness and empower people to improve their situation. My role includes supervising the team, managing caseloads, reporting KPI’s to the council, managing our funding and holding a small caseload

Housing Support Worker

Working within the NewStart scheme for floating support and housing management with high risk male offenders. I hold a case load of 10 clients for floating support in their own home as well as 4 tenants based in our supported accommodation. I support my clients to find appropriate and permanent housing, setting up and maintaining their tenancy as well as advising them on issues including substance abuse, mental/physical health, money management and finding work or education. The aim of the support is to reduce their risk of re-offending and try help them to change their behaviour for the long term.
