Interdisciplinary Internship

At RHAPS, we focused on deciphering the health impacts of atmospheric aerosols. My role involved researching the specific effects of fine aerosol exposure under authentic atmospheric conditions, with a special emphasis on developmental toxicity and inflammatory responses. To this end, I employed in vitro methodologies, specifically using the THP-1 cell line to measure IL-8 and TNF-alpha cytokine release, along with cell viability assays. Furthermore, I incorporated the Xenopus laevis teratogenesis assay to extend our understanding of the potential developmental consequences. My research was integral in advancing new health-related metrics for outdoor pollution studies.

Summer Internship

I honed my expertise in areas such as particulate matter analysis, tropospheric pollutant quantification, and air quality index computation, which are essential facets of modern environmental science. My on-site contributions in Tabriz were centered around monitoring and assessing air quality to aid the DOE's ongoing initiatives in environmental preservation.

Summer Internship

Over the course of two months, I bolstered my capabilities in key areas like atmospheric pollutant tracking, aqueous contaminant analysis, health risk assessment, and environmental quality monitoring. My work on-site in Tabriz involved application of advanced methodologies for pollution detection and evaluation, contributing significantly to the DOE's vital environmental preservation and public health initiatives.
