Graduate Research Assistant (Ph.D.)

As a PhD student at the university of Guelph, I was involved in commissioning the GRIFFIN gamma-ray spectrometer at TRIUMF in Vancouver, BC. I developed and maintained the C++ tools that are used to sort through and analyze the large amounts of data recorded by the detector electronics. This general sorting and analysis framework is now used by other experimental facilities. I established the techniques for analyzing the data generated by this state- of-the-art detector, including the application of corrections to account for deficiencies in a data set caused by systematic effects in the electronics, detector geometry, and signal pile-up.
