I redesign workflow most of the time. As an accountant for a local SME, they come with common challenge of rental, space and productivity, in order not to bog down operations and revenue generating activities. Created an office workspace app and an online ecommerce website for an association with shopping cart, product categories, print receipt and email function. Learnt html, css, javascript coding at the same time doing it. Now learning Nodejs because I need to be able to manage data received on the browser, years of experience using spreadsheets and function syntax, helps me relate to coding in categorising and prioritizing each code base on its function in the application. For data modelling, when I create an excel template for accounting, the raw data are stringify into dates, names, document reference, amounts, these lists of raw data is what I use to generate meaningful reports I need in accounting. Likewise in using applications, the database schema takes account of user access levels which google workspace already has the features in place, I can easily move users through different levels of access base on their functions. I am a more effective accountant using relational database than using end user apps like xero. That’s why I learn coding, so I can create my web apps more specifically to my workflow.
