Several short-term, month-long visits to the Laboratory of Pathogens and Host Immunity at the University of Montpellier to carry out transgenic modification of Plasmodium falciparum malaria strains using CRISPR-Cas9-based conditional knock-out system. My collaboration has been supported by grants of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies and the Programme Balaton/ Scientific and Technological Collaboration grant of the Hungarian Ministry of Innovation and Technology.

Coordination of malaria-related projects in the joint TTK-BME Malaria Research Laboratory: - Investigation of the deoxynucleotide triphosphate pool of Plasmodium falciparum parasite throughout the intraerythrocytic life cycle and its perturbation following drug treatment with common antimalarial compounds - Characterizing the genomic uracil content and its role in antigenic variation to evade host immune response with dot blot-based quantification assay supported by new generation sequencing - CRISPR-Cas9 system-based knock-out of key proteins of Plasmodium falciparum base-excision repair and their role in maintaining genomic integrity
