After transferring from our European location to the US headquarters, my work changed to more fundamental research in order to develop new concepts and prototypes for product development.After working two years as expat, I was localized to our US HQ. My job was to work on new concepts and new products for the plastic industry via additives. We turned one of these new concepts into a product.

After being hired by Milliken Europe, I have worked as researcher in the field of polymer additives, predominantly on nucleating and clarifying agents. Over the years this role has expanded to a broader R&D functions covering more of the product lines. In the area of business development, I have looked at introducing several new Milliken products into the European market. The basic process for this identifying (new) opportunities for new and existing products is customer contact, technology scouting and internal research.
