The NCAER study focused on constraints facing steel industry by the usual supply-side factors, such as availability of land, minerals, or environmental clearances, but also by inadequate demand and several other macroeconomic factors. My role was to participate in data collection and data analysis of steel production, capacity, finished steel, consumption, per capita steel consumption, analysis of financial performance of major steel companies of India and India’s comparative status in global steel industry.
