User Researcher / Visiting Scientist

Execute R&D activities resulting from the needs of the experiments associated to the Organisation needs, in particular in the framework of the UA9 collaboration (https://ua9.web.cern.ch/). Knowledge management: Writing and editing papers for publication in scientific journals. Experimental Activity: in continuity with former position. • In collaboration with Beam Machine Interaction (SY-STI-BMI) team which is part of the System Department (SY). • Conducting data analysis and applied physics studies with a focus on crystal intercepting devices. • Carrying out theoretical calculations and simulations handling with large datasets. • Contribute to the prototyping and validation activities of complex physics components.

• I was part of the Beam Machine Interaction (EN-STI-BMI) team which is part of the Engineering Department (EN), pushing forward the limits of technology to provide innovative research tools to the physics and engineering worldwide community. • Conducted data analysis and applied physics studies with a focus on crystal intercepting devices. • Carry out theoretical calculations and simulations handling with large datasets. • In-depth investigations and tests to determine root causes of operational failures in the experiments, development of ideas to minimize risks and revert negative impact for the smooth running of the accelerator. • Contributed to the prototyping and validation activities of complex physics components. • Executed R&D activities resulting from the needs of the experiments associated to the Organisation needs, in particular in the framework of the UA9 collaboration (https://ua9.web.cern.ch/). • Participated to the operation and performance follow-up of the UA9 experiment, investigating how tiny bent crystals could improve how beams are collimated in modern hadron colliders such as the LHC.

• I was part of the Accelerators and Beam Physics (ABP) team, the group in charge of beam performance over the complete CERN accelerator chain, from the source to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). • Carried out analysis and studies of the performance limitations related to particle interactions and behaviours, crystal collimation, and transversal beam dynamics. • Proposed improvements with ideas reflected into my PhD thesis titled Experimental Assessment of Crystal Collimation at the Large Hadron Collider (2018). • Participated in beam measurements during beam commissioning and Machine Development (MD) sessions, followed by data analysis as well as analytical calculations and numerical simulations. • Contributed to the set-up operational beams as well as beams with special parameters for various MD studies. • Attended and provided insights for the LHC Collimation Project (http://lhc- collimation-project.web.cern.ch/)
