Nottingham Trent University | Jun 2024 - Present

Post Doctoral Research Fellow

multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics to investigate metabolic resilience and central nervous system function. Identifying causal genes associated with fat mass and metabolic rate using immunohistochemistry, light-sheet microscopy, neuron-specific AAV-driven Cre knockdown of flox/flox mice, and spatial transcriptomics to identify transcriptional responses within the hypothalamus (Arc, VMH, DMH, PVN, SCN). Applying data management and analysis skills to interpret complex metabolic, transcriptomic, and neurophysiological datasets. Managing transgenic mouse colonies and conducting immunohistochemistry, qPCR, metabolic phenotyping, and neurophysiological assessments. Overseeing project planning and execution, ensuring alignment with research goals and timelines. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data interpretation and biological insights, including the integration of neurophysiological and metabolic findings.

Texas A&M University | Jun 2022 - May 2024

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Led research on the impact of exercise timing on systemic metabolism and circadian rhythms. Conducted large-scale metabolomics using LC-MS and GC-MS to characterize metabolic phenotypes. Managed transgenic mouse models, performed phenotyping, and conducted molecular analyses (qPCR). Supervised and mentored a team of undergraduate researchers, fostering skill development and project completion. Delivered key findings that enhanced understanding of circadian influences on metabolic health.

Liverpool John Moores University | Sep 2018 - Sep 2022

PhD Student

Investigated the metabolic and adaptive effects of low carbohydrate availability and heat stress during endurance training. Conducted metabolomics and metabolic phenotyping to assess physiological adaptations. Collaborated with INSEP and the French Triathlon Federation to enhance training protocols and athlete performance. Applied statistical analysis (R) and data management to interpret complex metabolic data. Developed expertise in cell culture, human physiology, and real-time PCR.

Liverpool John Moores University | Jan 2022 - Jun 2022

Lecturer

Led the MSc module “Contemporary Issues in Sport and Exercise Science Research.” Delivered academic content across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, implementing a range of teaching and assessment methods. Developed and evaluated coursework to enhance student understanding of complex physiological concepts. Provided guidance and mentorship to students, supporting their academic development.

Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance | Jan 2019 - Dec 2019

Visiting PHD Student

Completed the first study of my PhD, utilizing INSEP’s state-of-the-art facilities and expertise in sports science. Investigated the effects of carbohydrate availability and training load on metabolic adaptations in endurance athletes. Applied statistical analysis and data management to evaluate performance outcomes. Collaborated with INSEP researchers to refine training protocols based on metabolic insights.
