- Complete organization of transcriptomics of pathogen-host interactions from experimental design leading to identification of four new potential antifungal targets - Developed two molecular tools to study fungal infections in vivo, including extensive cloning and PCR use - Interpreted complex transcriptomics data, leveraging my knowledge in metabolism to identify multiple potential antifungal drug targets - Presented my research work in key international conferences, even winning presentation awards - Contributed to the fast and efficient setup of a COVID-19 test lab in response to the 2020 pandemic

- Successful collaboration with international laboratories in Brazil and Vienna that lead to multiple peer reviewed publications in top-tier journals (among which Nature Microbiology and Molecular Microbiology) - Elucidated a molecular mechanism of action in fungal organisms - Instructed several students in practical work that contributed to their bachelor’s and master’s theses and contributed to the “Wetenschap op stap” program, organizing experiments in classrooms to promote an interest in Biotechnology
