- Experimental design for Oxford Nanopore sequencing, both direct RNA and cDNA (with adaptive sampling) - Designed and executed experimental workflows for Illumina sequencing from cell culture over nucleic acid extraction and quality assessment, library preparation and data-analysis - Set up and extensively used the liquid handling robot (Integra Assist Plus) - Basic data-analysis in R - Setup the experimental part for the Oncology project, including intensive literature review, development of in vitro models and target selection as well as SOP writing - Extensive knowledge about and work experience in RNA biology - Contributed to research among different disease areas including, oncology, lung fibrosis and cardiac fibrosis, dividing my attention between different projects - Innovated research strategies and developed methods to optimize experimental efficiency, reducing time and cost - Successfully collaborated with teams across Lausanne and San Diego sites as well as external partners, demonstrating adaptability and strong communication skills in person and in virtual meetings - Prioritized tasks and adapted seamlessly to the dynamic demands of a start-up environment - Provided scientific input that contributed to target prioritization and diversification - Contributed to the development of a preclinical in vitro strategy that supported a successful InnoSuisse SIP grant financing - Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to evolving organizational structures and project requirements - Contributed to an upcoming research article in the oncology project

Postdoctoral Researcher in Transcriptomics

- Complete organization of transcriptomics of pathogen-host interactions from experimental design leading to identification of four new potential antifungal targets - Developed two molecular tools to study fungal infections in vivo, including extensive cloning and PCR use - Interpreted complex transcriptomics data, leveraging my knowledge in metabolism to identify multiple potential antifungal drug targets - Presented my research work in key international conferences, even winning presentation awards - Contributed to the fast and efficient setup of a COVID-19 test lab in response to the 2020 pandemic

- Successful collaboration with international laboratories in Brazil and Vienna that lead to multiple peer reviewed publications in top-tier journals (among which Nature Microbiology and Molecular Microbiology) - Elucidated a molecular mechanism of action in fungal organisms - Instructed several students in practical work that contributed to their bachelor’s and master’s theses and contributed to the “Wetenschap op stap” program, organizing experiments in classrooms to promote an interest in Biotechnology
